This policy applies to artwork uploaded through the website, supplied by email or WeTransfer, created through Canva/Design Online, or supplied through design assistance.
1. Production requires approved artwork
No job is production-ready until artwork is supplied, checked where applicable, and approved for production. Online payment alone does not mean production can start if artwork is missing, unclear or unsuitable.
2. Preferred artwork format
Print-ready PDF is preferred. Depending on the job, we may also accept AI, EPS, PSD, SVG, JPG, PNG, HEIC or other formats. Some formats may require conversion, checking, repair or paid design/prepress work.
3. Canva designs
Canva designs are useful for customer design creation, but they are not automatically print-ready. Canva designs may require correct sizing, bleed, safe margins, image resolution checks, font/export checks, colour conversion and proof approval before production.
When a Canva design is linked to an order, we may store the design ID, title, view/edit link, thumbnail or other metadata needed to identify and check the artwork for that order.
4. Bleed, safe area and sizing
Artwork should be supplied at the correct finished size with bleed where required. Important text, logos and QR codes should be kept inside the safe area and away from trim, fold, cut, eyelet or finishing areas.
5. Resolution and image quality
Low-resolution images, screenshots, social media images and stretched graphics may print blurry or pixelated. We may flag obvious quality issues, but customers are responsible for approving the final artwork.
6. Colour
Screen colours can differ from printed colour. RGB artwork, Canva artwork and images from phones/screens may shift in print. Exact colour matching is not guaranteed unless agreed in writing before production. Colour-critical jobs require a paid hard-copy proof, PMS/Pantone process or written colour-match agreement before production.
7. Customer responsibility
The customer is responsible for checking spelling, grammar, contact details, QR codes, layout, sizing, quantities, materials, finishes and all content before approval. Once approved, customer-supplied errors are the customer’s responsibility.
8. Our artwork check
We may check artwork for obvious print risks, but this is not a full proofreading, legal, copyright, licensing or brand compliance review. If artwork needs repair or redesign, extra charges and extra time may apply.
9. Copyright and permission
Customers must have permission to use all artwork, logos, images, fonts, templates and content supplied to Print Shop NSW, including content created or selected in Canva. We may refuse jobs that appear unlawful, unsafe, offensive, infringing or unsuitable.
10. Approval methods
Approval may be given through the website, artwork step, checkout, email, message, signed proof, written instruction, verbal instruction confirmed by staff, or internal staff notes recording verbal approval or proceed instructions. Written approval is preferred for dispute protection. After approval and production start, changes may not be possible.
11. Artwork help
If you are unsure whether your file is print-ready, use the Contact page or call 02 9892 1688 before ordering or approving production.
